The Philadelphia Story
A Comedy of Manners
by Philip Barry |
Directed by Carolyn Johnson |
This wickedly witty Broadway hit starred Katharine Hepburn as the haughty, spoiled socialite Tracy Lord. Tracy is beautiful and privileged but she has too many men in her life! She is about to marry successful but stuffy George when her congenial ex-husband and sparring partner, C.J. Dexter Haven arrives. Throw in a straying father; a brother who has sold her wedding story in exchange for silence; a tabloid reporter who is about to expose the family skeletons; a precocious, scheming younger sister; a case of mistaken identity; too much champagne and high jinks abound!
