Audition Information:

Auditions are an important part of the production process at Unity. We always strive to select the best actors for the roles available.

Auditions are also excellent opportunities for actors to hone their skills, and we respect the efforts of all those who seek auditions.

At Unity Theatre, plays are cast by the directors, with the assistance and approval of the producing artistic directors. Known actors are not required to audition in order to be cast in plays.

General auditions are held once a year and they are open to anyone interested in acting. These auditions are publicized in playbills, mailings, and through the media.

Equity actors are sometimes hired under an AEA Special Agreement, an umbrella contract negotiated through Circle Theatre of Fort Worth. We also take part in the annual Houston Co-operative auditions and the Austin Circle of Theatres auditions.

Callbacks are scheduled according to the needs of each director and the availability of desired actors.
